Right on Largo da Praia — Carvoeiro's compact beach square — with three floors, ocean views from level two, cocktails, a wine list that takes Portuguese producers seriously, and live music in season. The natural choice for extending a beach day into an evening without moving far.
Carvoeiro beach is small and beautiful. Largo da Praia surrounds it on three sides. Levels is on that square, which means you can go from sand to cocktail in about ninety seconds. For a beach evening that turns into an evening-evening, this is the most frictionless option in the village.
The three-floor setup gives you options. Ground floor for bar energy and easy ordering. Level two for ocean views and a table where you can have a conversation. Upper level for fresh air and the widest view over the coastline. The right floor depends on what kind of evening you're having.
The wine list is a genuine reason to come. Most beach bars in the Algarve treat wine as an afterthought — a few recognisable labels, all overpriced. Levels stocks regional Algarve producers alongside mainstream Portuguese wines, and the staff can usually tell you something about what's on the list. That's above average for a beach-square bar anywhere.
Service is inconsistent — good when it's quiet, stretched thin when the square fills up in peak season. The 4.2 rating reflects this variability. Go in with reasonable expectations: it's a popular beach bar, not a cocktail lounge with four staff per ten covers.
The food menu is fine without being remarkable. The octopus is frequently praised in reviews. If you're eating here, treat it as beach food — good for what it is, not a restaurant destination.
In July and August the square gets very full. If you want the ocean-view table on level two, get there before 7pm.
Largo da Praia is the beach square at the bottom of Carvoeiro village — you can't miss it. Levels is right on the square, next to the beach. Walk down from the car park above the village (a 5-minute walk) or take the road all the way to the beach level.
