Not all rooftops are equal. Some have the height but no thought put into the drink. Some have the views but forget to make something worth ordering. These five have both.

The Algarve's best-value rooftop and its best sunset combined. The Ria Formosa stretches out in front of you — wetlands, islands, water turning amber. Wine starts at five euros. It closes early, which is the only thing to plan around.
The best cocktails on this list, paired with a first-floor marina terrace at Tivoli. Two-star Iberian Peninsula Top Cocktail Bars. Open later than LAB, makes it the right choice for the evening rather than sunset.
The go-to in Faro after LAB Terrace closes. Later hours, cocktail-focused, views over the old town roofscape and the cathedral tower. Better for a night that wants to keep going beyond 8pm.
Modern rooftop lounge with ocean views and the historic Albufeira centre below. A cut above the strip-bar alternatives nearby. Cocktails are competent, the setting does more of the work — but the setting works.
Marina views from the rooftop, a more polished cocktail menu than Cidade Velha, and later opening hours than LAB. The backup option when the other two Faro rooftops are full or closed.
Three of the five best rooftop bars in the Algarve are in Faro. The reason is the old town: low-rise historic buildings create genuine height without needing a tower block, and the Ria Formosa gives every view something exceptional to look at. Most Algarve tourists skip Faro entirely. That's their loss and your advantage.
Lagos has rooftops too, but the town's layout makes good views harder to find. Albufeira has the Strip — avoid it. The B Rooftop at Hotel Baltum is the honest exception, above the noise and with an ocean view worth making the trip.
Boat tours, island trips, and sunset cruises to pair with the rooftops.
