The best bars and nightlife in Lagos, Portugal are concentrated in the old town — a ten-block stretch where speakeasies, rooftop terraces and late-night cocktail bars pack more drinks talent than the rest of the Algarve combined. Going out in Lagos is the best evening you'll have on this coast.

The best cocktails in Lagos and probably the Algarve. Tiny room, dim light, a mixologist who treats every drink like an exam he wants to pass. Order the yuzu or the rum and chocolate. Book it.
Moroccan décor that should be tacky but isn't. The salt-rimmed espresso martini is the move. Marina view comes free.
Open Friday and Saturday only. Tiny, intimate, custom cocktails, and the best shisha in town if you're into it. Locals know. You don't book, you just show up.
Top of the hotel, small pool, decent cocktails, great views. Cash only, which is annoying. Go for the sunset, not the food.
Day-to-night. Coffee in the morning, cocktails by 9. The rooftop is small but the staff will personalise a drink if you ask nicely. Passionfruit daiquiri.
Late night, rock music, cocktails named after movies, open till 4am. Happy hour 7–10pm. Not where you go for craft, where you go to stay out.
Ponta da Piedade coastline tours, kayaking, sunset cruises — activities to pair with the bars.
